Job description
Job Summary:
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. CNAs assist patients with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, maintain a safe environment, and support the healthcare team in delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, and mobility.
Take and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure).
Provide comfort measures such as positioning, bed making, and personal hygiene.
Assist with ambulation, transfers, and use of mobility aids.
Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the nursing staff.
Support patients with nutritional needs, including meal setup and feeding assistance.
Maintain accurate patient care records and documentation.
Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment for patients.
Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
Adhere to infection control and safety policies.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Current CNA certification in state of practice.
CPR and First Aid certification (may be required).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lift, move, and transfer patients as needed.
Compassionate, patient, and detail-oriented.
Work Environment:
Hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, rehabilitation centers, or home healthcare settings.
May require standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods.
Shift flexibility (days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays).
