Job description

This is an inpatient hospitalist opportunity at a critical access hospital in Ketchikan, Alaska, covering a gap in the schedule over a three-to-six-month assignment. The physician works solo, with a schedule of rotating 12-hour day (7:00a-7:00p) and/or night (7:00p-7:00a) shifts in three-to-four-shift increments - there are no 24-hour shifts. The target start is October 2026, and travel is covered.

The physician manages both med/surg and ICU patients, with ICU rounding and admissions required, seeing roughly 10 cases per day. The patient population is adults 18 and older; pediatric patients are admitted and followed by pediatricians, though the hospitalist may be consulted. Required procedures include ventilator management, with intubation and central line placement preferred. Documentation is in Epic.

Candidates should be Board Certified as a hospitalist, with an active Alaska license and DEA, at least two years of experience, BLS and ACLS, and recent internal or family medicine case logs. The client will explore IMLC or Alaska temporary licensure.
