Job description
This is a hospitalist opportunity at an acute care surgical hospital in Fresno, California, focused on pre-planned, scheduled surgeries with no emergency department and no emergent cases. The go-live is September 1, 2026, and providers with September availability are prioritized. This is a dedicated-team role with no floating, and the client is open to a 50/50 split with another community center. There is no call, credentialing runs approximately 60-90 days, and travel is covered.
The schedule includes 12-hour day shifts (7:00a-7:00p) staffed by two clinicians and night shifts (7:00p-7:00a) staffed by one clinician, who must take cross-cover medicine calls on behavioral health hospital patients. The facility has 48 med/surg beds and 9 ICU beds, with an open ICU model in which the surgeon is primary and the hospitalist consults. Average day census is 28, and night census is 28 cross-cover with roughly 7 night admissions. The physician supervises APPs and leads codes and rapid response, responding with the rapid response team, while anesthesia performs intubations and procedures. Documentation is in Epic.
Candidates should be Board Certified - or Board Eligible within five years of residency - with an active California license, at least two years of experience, and ACLS.
