Hospitalist Needed in Fresno, CA | Level 1 Trauma Center | Day, Swing & Night Shifts | No Call

Job description

This is an inpatient hospitalist opportunity at a large acute care hospital in Fresno, California - a Level 1 trauma and comprehensive burn center with 685 licensed beds. The go-live is September 1, 2026, and providers with September availability are prioritized. There is no call, no procedures are required, credentialing runs approximately 60-90 days, and travel is covered.

The schedule offers 12-hour shifts across day, swing, and night. Day coverage includes a rounder (7:00a-7:00p, seeing 18-19 patients seasonally) and an admitter (7:00a-7:00p); swing shifts run 11:00a-11:00p and 2:00p-2:00a; and night shifts run 5:00p-5:00a, 7:00p-7:00a, and 8:00p-8:00a. Average day census is roughly 336, with about 53 total admissions per 24 hours (7-9 on swing and 7-9 overnight). The physician supervises APPs and responds to all in-house rapid response calls and to their own patients' codes; Code Blue is run by critical care/intensivist staff, who handle airway and access. The facility has a 57-bed adult ICU and a 30-bed neuro ICU, with a closed ICU model except for cardiology and CT surgery. Documentation is in Epic.

Candidates should be Board Certified - or Board Eligible within five years of residency - with an active California license, at least two years of experience, and ACLS.
