Hospitalist Needed in Vidalia, GA | PRN Days & Nights | Urgent Need | Exceptionally Stable Program

Job description

Start: November 2, 2026 (or as soon as credentialed) - urgent need
Length: 13 weeks (open to extension)
Coverage: PRN/per diem hospitalist coverage - open shifts, days and nights available
Schedule: 12-hour shifts; days 7:00a-7:00p and nights 7:00p-7:00a
Call: No call; no overnight call for daytime providers
Volume: Daytime target of 18-22 billable encounters per day shift with admissions factored in; nocturnists average 8-10 admissions per night
Practice Setting: Acute care hospital, inpatient medicine

Staffing: Volume-dependent daytime model with 2-3 physicians plus 1 APP who rounds independently on approximately 80% of the physician census, with physician chart review and co-signing as required; 1 nocturnist covering 7p-7a. Open ICU model with 24/7 intensivist support. Hospitalist responsible for all codes and rapid responses. Predictable, block-based admission structure for daytime providers, with block times alternating daily for fairness. Shared, team-based approach during peak volumes. Nocturnists handle cross coverage and admissions, primarily from the ED. Timely documentation in Meditech Expanse.

Requirements
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine
- Active Georgia license required at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- Clean file and NPI/name clear required
- COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only); flu vaccination required
- Credentialing timeline: minimum 90 days
- Note: no local candidates within 50 miles of the facility
