Hospitalist Needed in Victoria, TX | Permanent | High-Volume Inpatient | Strong Specialty Support

Job description

This is a full-time permanent hospitalist position (with a locums-to-perm option) joining a growing inpatient program at a 189-bed acute care hospital and Level III trauma center in Victoria, Texas. The setting is high-volume inpatient hospital medicine, with roughly 27,000 annual hospitalist encounters, an average of 74 daily hospitalist visits, and about 18 encounters per clinician per day. Day shifts (7:00a-7:00p) are staffed by two hospitalist physicians and two APPs, and night shifts (7:00p-7:00a) by one hospitalist physician or one APP, with dedicated Discharge Navigator APP support Monday-Friday.

The physician manages the inpatient hospitalist service, responds to Code Blue events, and provides onsite coverage, with no procedures required. Clinical support includes an open ICU with Pulmonary/Critical Care (PCCM) consultation, teleneurology support in the ED, and strong multidisciplinary specialty support spanning general and trauma surgery, cardiology, GI, nephrology, OB, oncology, pediatrics, pulmonology, plastic surgery, neonatology, and urology. Documentation is in MedHost, with Press Ganey for patient satisfaction.

Candidates should be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine, with ACLS and BLS.
