Medical Oncologist Needed in Fond du Lac, WI | Outpatient Clinic + 13-Chair Infusion Center | Light Call | Travel Covered

Job description

Start: November 1, 2026 (or as soon as credentialed)
Length: 13 weeks preferred; coverage need runs through July 31, 2027 (open to extension)
Coverage: Hospital-based outpatient oncology clinic with daily inpatient rounding
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8:00-16:30 (5x8s template); 2 hours gratis
Call: Second call every third weekend
Volume: ~8 patients/day primary caseload; ~2 inpatient rounding/day; clinic running ~15-20 outpatient visits/day
Case Mix: ~85% oncology / 15% hematology - breast, lung (NSCLC/SCLC), colorectal, prostate, pancreatic, gynecologic, head and neck, melanoma, and skin
Practice Setting: Outpatient oncology clinic plus 13-chair infusion center; on-site radiation therapy
Support: 3 MDs and 2 APPs, oncology pharmacist, nurse navigator, oncology RN, palliative support team

Manage new patient consults and follow-ups independently and alongside the APP team. Inpatient rounding. Treatment oversight including IV and oral chemotherapy, immunotherapy, hormonal therapy, and clinical trials. Chemotherapy supervision and order entry. Management of oncologic emergencies. Tumor board and multidisciplinary participation. May supervise APPs. Timely documentation in Epic and Aria.

Requirements
Board Certified in Medical Oncology
Minimum 1-3 years of experience
Wisconsin license required and must be in hand - IMLC/compact accepted (not open to licensure)
BLS required
Chemotherapy certification (ONS) required
Bone marrow biopsy certification required
COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
CV required in mm/yy-mm/yy format with all gaps over 30 days explained
8:00-16:30 clinic days, Monday-Friday
Second call every third weekend
