Neuro Hospitalist Locum Tenens Opportunity – Northern California (Near Bay Area)

Start Date: January 2026
Location: County Hospital – Northern CA
Reason for Coverage: Current provider leaving; splitting time between clinic and neurodiagnostics
Schedule: 1 week per month
Assignment Length: 6 months with ongoing extension possible

Requirements

Board Eligible accepted

Minimum 2 years Neurology experience

General Neurology: headaches, epilepsy, movement disorders, memory/aging conditions

Preferred Skills

Inpatient rounding experience preferred (not required)

Neurodiagnostics (EEG) experience a plus – Cadwell system used

Clinical Details

Clinic Hours: Mon–Fri, 8a–5p (2–3 days/week)

No 4x10s or 12-hour shifts

Patient Volume: ~12 patients/day

Visit Lengths: 30 min new / 15 min follow-up

Procedures: Lumbar puncture

Setting: Primarily general neurology; no subspecialists onsite

Inpatient: Optional; “nice to have,” not required

Support Staff: 1–2 MAs/MSAs; RN triage support as needed
