ummary/Objective:
The physical therapist implements patient rehabilitation programs to help improve patient mobility, function, and strength.

Essential Functions:

Hold license as a Physical Therapist in the state in which you intend to work
Maintain and update PT skills and certifications as necessary
Evaluate and treat patients for physical therapy and rehabilitation programs
Utilize Electronic Medical Record to complete evaluations, reports and discharge summaries for
patient files
Guide & monitor patient care in all aspects of treatment and follow-up
Supervise PT Assistants and Aides regarding all aspects of patient care
Communicate with physicians and other persons to insure quality patient care
Correspond with co-workers & other offices via phone, fax & email
Be responsible for accurate patient chart documentation & follow-up re: prescriptions, test
results, authorizations etc.
Make sure patients are comfortable and answer questions when necessary.
Work closely with the front office staff regarding scheduling and patient follow up.
Have computer skills necessary to complete job requirements i.e. typing, Word, Internet, EMR, etc.
Be able to make independent decisions regarding patient care
Be involved in the business marketing & referral process when necessary
Be responsible for following HIPAA policy & procedure
Be familiar with PT billing policy & procedure re: Medicare work-comp, private, auto, liens,
cash pay etc.
Be proficient in DX and ICD-10 coding for the billing of services
Be able to be physical mobile, including a combination of stool sitting, walking, and prolonged standing
for 8-10 hour work days, based on patient care schedule.
Be able to lift 50 pounds and assist moving patients with mobility restraints, assist patients
with transferring, and providing stand by assistance and recovery with patient
walking safety.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position supervises PT Assistants and Aides regarding all aspects of patient care.
