Medical Physicist Needed in Suffolk, VA
Job description
Start: September
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Full-time (5x8s)
Practice Details:
* Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists, Dosimetrists, Radiation Therapists, and Medical Physicists
* Support radiation treatment planning and delivery
* Perform routine QA/QC measurements, equipment testing, and documentation
* Assist with implementation of new technologies and departmental quality initiatives
* Ensure compliance with AAPM, ASTRO, ACR, ACRO, and state regulatory standards
* Maintain radiation safety practices and support Virginia and North Carolina radioactive materials licensing requirements
Requirements:
* Doctorate in Medical Physics or related field
* Candidates with a PhD in another discipline must have completed a CAMPEP-accredited Medical Physics Certificate Program
* Working toward or eligible for ABR certification
* Experience with radiation therapy QA/QC and radiation safety
* Strong knowledge of therapeutic medical physics principles and regulatory compliance
