Locums – APP – Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Psych NP) – Portland, WA
Job description
Start Date: As soon as credentialed
Contract Length: 3 months, possibility to extend
Coverage: Monday–Friday, Scheduled + No Call
Schedule
Hours: 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Work Week: 40 hours/week
Workday: 8-hour day with a 1-hour unpaid lunch
No Call
Overtime:
OT only approved by the HCA/CMO if daily productivity exceeds 18 patients
Otherwise, timecards will be adjusted and OT will not be paid
Charting time is not paid — only direct patient care counts
Option to cover Saturdays for OT rate (if productivity threshold is met)
Work Details
Support Staff:
Dedicated MA
Receptionist
Mental health therapists and dietitians
Most clinics have an onsite pediatrician
Local healthcare administrator (also manages timecards)
Coverage Need: Full-time, 40 hrs/week
Patients per Day: Up to 18 scheduled (may vary due to cancellations)
Must be comfortable with fast-paced, higher-volume outpatient work
Patient Population: Newborns through geriatrics
Department Description:
Community Health Center setting
Providers should have experience or interest in caring for underserved and vulnerable populations
Clinic serves migrants and refugees; interpretation services onsite
Bilingual not required, but Spanish or Russian is a plus
EMR: EPIC
Scope of Practice:
Assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of mental health disorders and substance use disorders across the lifespan
Ramp-up:
1-week onsite orientation
Expected to begin patient care by Day 3

Outpatient ambulatory — Community Health Center
Requirements
Board Certification: Required
Licensure: Active Washington license required (non-licensed candidates not considered)
DEA: Active WA DEA required
Certifications:
Determined at credentialing (BLS, ACLS, etc. if required)
Provider is responsible for obtaining any required certs
Experience:
Must have recent face-to-face patient care within the past year
Must have Psych NP experience within the past year
Clean background required — no malpractice will be considered
Languages: Spanish or Russian a plus
Vaccinations: COVID + flu required
