About the Role:

SetLine Health is seeking a dedicated Staff Psychiatrist to join our team providing essential psychiatric care to adult inpatients at a county jail facility. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by delivering mental health services to both male and female populations in a structured correctional setting.

Schedule Options:

• 4x10-hour shifts OR 5x8-hour shifts
• Daytime schedule (no nights)
• In-person or hybrid models considered
• No call

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment planning for incarcerated patients
• Provide medication management and ongoing care to stabilize and support patient mental health needs
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including nursing, medical, and correctional staff
• Document treatment plans, progress notes, and maintain compliance with facility and regulatory standards
• Participate in case reviews and provide consultation as needed
• 60 min new consult / 30 min follow up / up to 14 patients per day

Qualifications:

• MD or DO with Board Certification/Eligibility in Psychiatry
• Active and unrestricted medical license in California
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary and correctional environment
• Corrections experience preferred but not required – training and support provided for motivated candidates

Payrate:
• $230-250/hr
