Locums - Physician - Psychiatry (Pediatric & Adult) – Clinic – San Jose, CA

Estimated Start Date: January 1, 2026
Requested Coverage: 12–16 hours per week
Schedule Details: Flexible scheduling available within Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM. Options include:
One 8-hour shift per week (e.g., 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM with lunch break)
Three 4-hour shifts per week (e.g., 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM)
Number of Shifts Needed per Month: Based on 12–16 hours/week
Patient Population & Case Mix:
Provider will perform psychiatric assessments and ongoing medication management for developmentally disabled patients with co-occurring mental health disorders. Must be eligible for Medi-Cal/Medicare certification and authorized to prescribe controlled substances.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct psychiatric assessments, evaluations, and mental status exams (MSEs)
Diagnose using the current DSM edition approved by the APA
Utilize the electronic health record system and follow Santa Clara County Psychiatric Medical Guidelines
Collaborate with medical director, nurses, clinicians, and case managers
Review diagnostic data and lab results relevant to patient care
Document assessments, diagnoses, and treatment summaries thoroughly
Participate in individualized treatment planning with clinical staff
Provide psychiatric services via telehealth and/or in-office visits
Offer consultation and peer guidance to other providers
Engage in quality assurance and performance improvement activities
Educate families and caregivers on mental health and intellectual disabilities
Prepare legal and court-related documentation as needed
Certifications Needed:
