DIS Health is seeking six full-time psychiatrists to support The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) clinics in and around Decatur, GA.

The ideal candidate will have a desire and ambition to provide the best-in-class service and support for Veterans and DIS team members.

Detailed Description of the Psychiatrist Requirements:

Provide comprehensive psychiatric services for Veterans at Atlanta VA Healthcare System Outpatient Clinics.
Offer general care for male and female adult Veterans.
Conduct diagnostic evaluations and consultations.
Manage medications and provide individual psychotherapy.
Prescribe appropriate psychotropic medications.
Provide general clinical management and request consultations with other medical disciplines.
Assess risk factors and develop preliminary disposition plans involving the Veteran and, with consent, their family/significant other.
Treat common diagnoses such as:
Anxiety disorders
Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Major Depression and other mood disorders
Substance Use Disorders
Bipolar Disorder
Schizophrenia and other Serious Mental Illnesses
Mental disorders related to Traumatic Brain Injuries
Assess serious and complex cases, including illness, catastrophic medical conditions, and dementia.
Exercise clinical judgment in selecting or adapting theories, techniques, and practices.
Serve as a member of a behavioral health interdisciplinary treatment team.
Establish professional relationships with clinical service providers.
Provide telephone and curbside consultations as needed.
Supervise mid-level providers, psychiatric advanced practice nurses, physician assistants, and other staff.
Conduct telephone and telehealth assessments as needed.
Participate in medical duties related to quality of care, peer review, and performance improvement activities.
Required Experience and Qualifications:

2-10 Years of Experience
Active Psychiatrist License
Board Certification or evidence of Board Eligibility for Psychiatry
AHA BLS
AHA ACLS
NPI
DEA
Preferred but NOT Required Qualifications:

Experience working as a psychiatrist for a federal or public agency.
