DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Locum Tenens Adult Forensic Psychiatrist to provide inpatient psychiatric services in Marcy, NY. This position involves managing a forensic patient population and performing specialized forensic psychiatric evaluations, including competency assessments and court-ordered medication evaluations.

COMPENSATION

‣ Pay Rate: Details can be discussed further after applying to the job posting

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

‣ Manage a forensic inpatient caseload of approximately 19–25 patients
‣ Complete patient admissions and discharges
‣ Respond to emergent psychiatric crises
‣ Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
‣ Perform Competency to Stand Trial evaluations
‣ Perform Court Ordered Psychiatric Medication (COPM) evaluations
‣ Provide court testimony as required
‣ Collaborate with appropriate clinical and legal teams in the care of forensic patients

QUALIFICATIONS

‣ Adult Psychiatrist with forensic psychiatry experience preferred
‣ Minimum 1 year of experience preferred
‣ Must be Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN)
‣ Must be Medicare enrolled
‣ Must be Medicaid enrolled
‣ Experience with forensic populations and court-related evaluations is strongly preferred

‣ Monday–Friday
‣ 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
‣ 60 hours per week listed
‣ No weekend coverage indicated
