Part-Time Psychiatrist | Onsite – Southeast Texas

We are currently seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Psychiatrist for a part-time locum tenens opportunity at a Facility in Texas. This 6-month assignment begins November 1, 2025, with a potential for extension. The role is onsite only, offers a flexible schedule at 20 hours per week, and may include on-call responsibilities. Experience with developmental disabilities is required.

Position Overview:

Start Date: November 1, 2025
Location: Southeast Texas (exact location shared upon inquiry)
Schedule: 20 hours per week (flexible scheduling)
On-Call: Possible
Duration: 6-month contract with potential for extension

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose and treat psychiatric disorders in individuals with developmental disabilities
Perform comprehensive psychiatric assessments and evaluations
Collaborate with the medical services department to support DOJ Settlement Agreement compliance
Maintain thorough and timely documentation in Cerner EMR
Provide medication justification and coordinate treatment planning

Patient Population:

Individuals with developmental disabilities (majority of caseload)

Requirements:

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
Active Texas Medical License
DEA Registration
Experience with developmental disabilities (required)
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to document clearly and justify psychiatric medication use
Familiarity with Cerner EMR
