Part-Time Mental Health Facilitator – Monterey County Juvenile Hall (Dogs In Residence Program)
Job description
UnChained is seeking a part-time Mental Health Facilitator to support our Dogs In Residence program at Monterey County Juvenile Hall. The Facilitator will provide group facilitation and individual support for youth participants, ensuring the program remains trauma-informed and youth-centered. This role includes leading reflection exercises, offering trauma-informed resources, and collaborating with UnChained trainers to integrate mental health practices into weekly sessions with youth and dogs. The ideal candidate is a licensed or pre-licensed mental health professional with experience facilitating groups and a passion for community healing and the human-animal bond.
- Part-time, approx. 5–8 hrs/week
- Work with incarcerated youth in Monterey County
- Trauma-informed, relationship-based program with shelter dogs
