Psychologist – Locum Tenens Opportunity

📆 Schedule: M-F, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (telehealth flexibility available)

About the Opportunity:
This is a fantastic opportunity for a licensed psychologist to contribute to the forensic mental health field at a well-established state hospital. The role focuses on conducting competency and risk evaluations for adult and adolescent patients, providing crucial psychological testing and reports for court proceedings. This is a unique chance to work with a diverse patient population in a supportive, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Evaluate 46B patients for Competency to Stand Trial and provide written reports for court
• Assess 46C patients for risk of future violence and make recommendations for less restrictive treatment settings
• Conduct Ch 55 evaluations for Fitness to Stand Trial, and provide detailed reports for court and CWS Avatar
• Perform psychological testing and interpretation for both adults and adolescents
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in CWS Avatar and Cerner EMR systems

• State Hospital specializing in forensic mental health
• Patient Population: Adults and adolescents
• EMR: Cerner
Requirements:
• Licensed Psychologist in Texas (Board Certification in Forensic Psychology preferred)
• CPR certification from the American Heart Association
• COVID-19 Vaccination card (if applicable)
• Negative PPD results within the past 12 months
• Must pass urine drug screen, background check, and FBI fingerprint check (all required)
• Must maintain continuing education requirements for completing forensic evaluations
• Credentialing Timeframe: 30 days
Compensation & Logistics:
• Telehealth flexibility may be offered, but in-person is preferred
