Radiation Oncologist needed in VA
Job description
We are seeking a Board-Certified Radiation Oncologist for a locum tenens opportunity in Southwest Virginia. This is a no-call position with flexible scheduling Monday through Thursday, ideal for providers looking for a consistent block of work with a collaborative and fully staffed team.
Setting: Outpatient Cancer Center (Closed on all major holidays)
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Clinic hours: Mon–Fri, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
No Call Required
Minimum Commitment: 2 weeks per month for a 6-month term
Patient Volume: Under 25 patients/day
Ages Seen: Adults only (18+)
EMR Systems: Epic & Aria
Planning System: Eclipse
Linear Accelerator: 1 TrueBeam
Treatment Capabilities: SRS, SBRT, 3D/IMRT, Electron therapy
Software Used: Mobius, Radformation, .Decimal
GYN Brachytherapy: Available via internal referral within Ballad Health System
Requirements:
Board Certification: Radiation Oncology (required)
License: Active Virginia medical license (required)
DEA: VA DEA (required)
Certifications: BLS (required)
Experience: Open to all experience levels (minimum: basic competency with treatment planning, SRS/SBRT)
Background Check: Must have a clean background
Credentialing Timeframe: Expedited — as fast as 30 days
IMLC Accepted: Yes

Travel Reimbursement: Airfare, hotel, rental car, and mileage reimbursed
