🩻 Weekend Diagnostic Radiologist – Locum Tenens
Location: Orange County, California Facility Type: Hospital – Inpatient Setting Start Date: ASAP (after locums credentialing) Contract Length: 13+ weeks Schedule: Saturdays & Sundays, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM (10-hour shifts) Coverage Type: Scheduled shifts only – No call

🏥 Position Overview
Long Beach Medical Center is seeking a Board-Certified Diagnostic Radiologist to provide high-volume weekend coverage. This is an onsite-only role focused on adult and geriatric imaging. The ideal candidate is a body imager comfortable with a fast-paced environment and a wide mix of modalities.

📊 Workload & Expectations
Average weekday reads: ~80

Weekend reads: 150–180 per shift

Modalities: CT, MRI, ultrasound, and plain films (no nuclear, cardiac, or breast)

Must complete all studies during shift — no carryover to next provider

Additional short shifts (e.g., 8 AM–1 PM) may be available

Prior to starting: 2 weekday onsite training shifts for system setup and quality review

✅ Requirements
Board Certification in Diagnostic Radiology

Active, unrestricted California medical license

DEA registration

BLS or ACLS certification

Minimum 1 year of experience

Must commit to at least one weekend shift per month (more preferred)

EMR: EPIC
