Join us as a Radiologist at the William Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center located in Columbia, SC.
Duties include:
• Provide general and interventional Radiology procedures including but limited to:
o Diagnostic Radiology
o Ultrasound
o Computed Tomography (CT)
o Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
o Nuclear Medicine
o Interventional Radiography (IR)
• Communicate test results to Providers and Patients.
• Provide consultation with and instruction to referring physicians regarding appropriate indications for general, ultrasound, CT, MRI, nuc med, and IR radiologic procedures so that the most expeditious and clinically appropriate work-up can be done.
• Determine appropriate courses of treatment and communicate in person or by phone with referring clinicians.
• Provide review of consults/orders and next-day patient cases for minimum 2 hours daily.
• Provide post-procedure evaluation, follow-up, and clinical consultation regarding complications of interventional radiologic procedures.
• Follow all established medication policies and procedures. No sample medications shall be provided to patients.
• Provide discharge education and follow up instructions that are coordinated with the next care setting for all emergency department patients.
• Participate in all quality management activities and meetings as required.
• Attend all staff and specialized meetings as required.
• Perform ongoing peer-reviews for approximately 4 hours per month.
Schedule: Full-time, 8A-4:30P M-F. On-call 4:30P-8A weekdays and 4:30P Fri-8A Mon weekends.
Period of Performance: Base period 1 year 6/1/2025-5/31/2026 w/ one 12-month renewal option.
Qualifications:
• Education. Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree.
• Board Certification. All contractor’s physician(s) shall be Board Certified per the American Board of Radiology (Sign up or sign in for contact information).
• Licensure and certification. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. BLS, ACLS, DEA, and NPI required.
• Experience. Must be capable of demonstrating technical proficiency.
• English Language Proficiency: In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(f), no person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English.
• Subject to background/security investigation.
• Must pass TB test.
• Complete an online onboarding process.
• Willingness to comply with Department of Veterans Affairs vaccination programs for seasonal influenza and COVID-19.
• Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
